Busy and active as we are, our life should be nicer than it is. Who is satisfied?
Even the most beautiful, young, sexy, rich, educated people we see in the television fiction are loaded with problems, disappointments, suffering, deceit, insecurity, violence, abuse and whatever. This is fiction, but it attracts viewers because it shows an underlying reality.
How many of the observations we make are true? Of all the impulses reaching our eyes, only a fraction makes it to our awareness. Most of the information is blocked by different filters, of which some were relevant some 10 000 years ago.
And the impulses we see are just fragments of form and color which our brain puts together into arbitrary structures which are colored by our own moods of fear, revenge, hostility, unrealistic dreams and all of it is evaluated by the question: is this good for me?
Nevertheless, we have the capacity to react very strongly, and often we compensate our lack of knowledge by resolute action. So worse gets worse.
Everything is not bad, of course.
Our basic life and life ambition is not soiled by the everyday difficulties, and we can return to this pure satisfaction by breaking the stream of thoughts just like that!

Mind brain conflict 2
Normally we think with the brain. We even support the important aspects in our situation with agreements and different legal documents. We create structures.
We can also think with the mind. The mind is volatile and can see anything from any point of view. Evaluations can change many times every second, but truth is truth.
These two ways of thinking can be in conflict. Indeed, that is normal. This causes problems.
The most common problem is probably exaggeration. Ideas imprinted in the brain are given more importance than they should have. We exaggerate the importance of the negative and the positive we encounter.
With the mind we can see reality as it is. But the brain registers reality as we have decided it to be - with rules, laws and agreements. We can organise our society in different ways, and many of these ways are equal. So we have to ask the brain which the convention is in this particular place.
We have different roles in society, and we are in different situations. Sometimes we should think with mind and sometimes with brain. Mind is superior to brain. If we feel that the structures, laws and traditions in one society are more problematic than good, we should try to change them. But if we have laws we should respect them.

Well being
Mind knowledge for well being, just one example:
If we have a problem, we think about it, and get a lot of feelings about it. It is quite natural. We can even get obsessed with it and think about it day and night. Sleepless nights are difficult.
The problem might be impossible to solve. It might be about the actions of people we can not reach or factors we can not influence. The more we seek a solution, the more obvious it is there is none.
In the most serious cases, this might lead to suicide or some other extreme action.
But if we know mind, we know mind is vast. It is wide as cosmos. And the problem - any problem - is just a small dot in this immense cosmos. The problem is the interlocking of a few ideas. They can be stuck. The problem is a reality.
But compared to the totality of mind the problems is a small thing.
However, if we thrust our thoughts and feelings against the problem, the thoughts and feelings will make the problem more solid.
We do not have to do so. Mind is vast. We can go around the problem. We can think about other things. Maybe it does not concern us after all. Maybe there are distant factors that can help.
So the problem can be solved if we do not think too much about it.
But our thoughts are important. If we will others well and seek solutions and processes that will be good for others, the problem might get solved also.
