Reconstruction of the true man is a mind process. If you would try to use bodily means as sticks and carrots, it will probably fail. Mind deals with truth, so information, communication, argument, analysis and openness should work.
Mind is also the scene for feelings and for energy tornadoes. They make the situation more complicated. But they should never lead.
Instead, we should try to find our deepest will, and then let it be supported by reason, feelings and energy.
Our mind is in constant change, as new information and new impulses are coming incessantly. At the same time, mind can be very stable. In order to reach a certain goal the person must be quite headstrong.
Everything is interdependent with everything else. Even the hermit is supported by the general interdependency. This is vital, but it should not be over used. The normal relation between people is positive neutrality. In a few places like prisons, the relations are not neutral, but these places should be as few as possible.

Secrets 2
If we want to know the specifics in this universe, we have to know the specifics in every individual mind. And the content in the mind is under constant change. Evaluations can change from extremely positive to extremely negative some 60 times per second. It is a mess and a complex one.
This means that if we have some important message to communicate, we have to communicate it. We can not just hope that others will get it. There are billions and billions of messages out there.
Communication is more abundant than ever before, so the need for communication increases.
In old movies we see the secret agent in his hat and long raincoat under the streetlamp, watching out in the hope of finding the truth. These days we envisage the modern agents in front of their computer monitors following millions and millions of information pieces, in the hope of finding the truth.
Is it likely that the modern methods are more efficient than the old ones? The possibilities of making mistakes must be enormous.
We know - from Buddhist philosophy - that mind is the most important aspect of human beings, and mind works with communication, information and truth - that is no secret.

The opposite 2
The material reality is comparatively difficult to change. It used to be hard work to move mountains and it is complicated to change the production of cars from big energy consuming objects to light, environment friendly things.
This material slowness has given stability to our life and values.
In a mind based reality we do not have this stabilising factor. In mind thoughts and feelings can move with the speed of light. Mind processes are optical phenomenon. Light play, that is.
So we need some new kind of stabilising factor, or else we end up in anarchy and self induced confusion.
The answer to this new need is truth. Truth is stable. We can rely on truth.
If we - in the spirit of Socrates - can see the difference between truth and non truth, we can roam around freely in the cosmic space of mind, investigating and enjoying everything.

The lotus 2
The writer John leCarre has said that he rewrites the first page of his books several times. Other writers probably do the same.
In the published book, only the final version of the first page is printed. If we did study the creative process it would be interesting to have a book consisting of all the versions and alterations of the first page - it would be a book of its own, maybe 100 pages all about the same page with small or big alterations. A theme with variation!
The traditional way, to throw away all bad versions and just publish the final one, is however quite justified. Trial and error is a method we have to use in order to find the best.
We could ask: which is most true, the first try or the final version. The first is probably most true towards the spontaneous mind set, but the final version should be most true to intentions and also to the language used by the readers.

Cognition
We try to understand the external reality. It is called cognition. If we make a correct observation it is called valid cognition.
We organize our knowledge in mind under concepts. It is a natural filing system.
These basic functions can give diverse result. The result we prefer is decided by our attitude and intention.
So truth is not a simple thing. There are many truths as there are many ways to see the world. Many attitudes can be supported by valid cognition.
If we feel for war, that can be supported by valid cognition.
If we feel for peace, that can be supported by valid cognition.
The decisive factor is in our intention. If we want to see other persons and reality as nice, it can be supported by valid cognition.
Reality allows for a wide choice of attitudes. So we have to make up our mind ourselves. What is best, really?
