Mind as creator 2

In China the government is afraid of the Tibetan tradition and of the Falun Gong movement. Typical for both of these movements is mind training. The result of mind training is a state of freedom which can not be diminished by traditional power strategies. In order to subdue these traditions, the government has used extremely harsh methods.
However, mind training is a positive activity, and no culture can survive without the freedom of mind. For any government, free minds are the most valuable asset, as the mind is the creator of all - sangsara as well as nirvana.
Without mind training the result of the creative process of mind is sangsara - the relative existence dominated by suffering, leading to illness, aging and death. This mind is involved in a long term suicide as its main occupation.
With mind training the result is nirvana which in Tibetan is called nyang de, which means "state beyond sorrow".
In a traditional, sangsaric society, the principle for governing might well be the devious methods described by Machiavelli. But for nirvana, devious methods are of no use.
