We have a choice. We can build a society on trust or on distrust. There are many examples of distrust: Soviet Union, Argentina and Chile under military rule, Iraq and Afghanistan for example.
So the choice should be easy.
Instead of distrust we should have control. We have control in most normal activities, like large sectors of the economy. Every dollar must be accounted for. That is good and it is no problem. The accounting is not an expression of distrust, but a check that everything is in order.
If there is no control, someone will take advantage of the situation in a bad way.
So there should mutual control. Those who are controlled should control the controllers. It should not be a hierarchy of control over control, but this basic mutual control.
