The mind-money problem

A classical problem in the philosophy of mind is the mind-body problem. A more modern rendering would be the mind-money problem.

The mind-body problem is about the different functions and conditions of mind and body, and their interaction. It is a real problem, and the understanding of it solves many problems.

Indeed, we now know so much about the body so we can use it as a fine working machine for decades. Very good.

This gives room for dealing with the next problem, which is the mind-money problem.

Money is the symbol of social functioning. We use money to get what we need and want, and by providing what others need and want we get money. We do this all the time.

Money is a problematic issue, as some have too little and others have too much. We claim not to be superstitious, but superstition about the powers and values of money is totally accepted. Even some of the richest continue to strive for the mystic value that is supposed to be won by owning a few more billion dollars.

Those extremes aside, we can see money as the oil in the social machinery. It is not dramatic. It is just like oil.

The creation of money and the methods for accessing money has changed during history, and this part of history is not very glorious. But the times are changing. Now we can have all the money we need.

In dealing with the mind-body problem we use mind directly and indirectly. Indirect use of mind is in choosing food and exercise for example. Direct use of mind is in meditation and anti-stress exercises which directly influence the energy fields of the organism.

In the mind-money situation, indirect methods has dominated so far. We work and get a salary. It is a nice model, but it is not very efficient. Who has become rich from honest work? The more work, the lower wages.

What would direct mind-money methods mean? Well, we live in this huge electromagnetic field which is the supporter of life, and we could influence this field directly with mind.

The natural law for attraction in magnetism is by opposition. The plus and the minus poles attract each other. So we get by giving.

Giving is an art. It is well known in popular music. By giving the listeners the mind structures they need, the artist gets a lot of money and other symbols for appreciation.
