In these days, artists like Madonna and Britney Spears get a tremendous support from the industry they are part of (composers, choreographers, musicians, movie makers, sound and visual experts, media, commercial organisations, marketing and so on) so you sometimes doubt the importance of human potential. What is most important, the industry or the artist?
The answer is that human potential is the most important. This potential is not only expressed in and by the artist, but also by all others involved - composer, choreographer and all the others.
Our existential meaning as humans is to express this our potential. It is extremely strong, once we find our thing to do. Billions of people are blocked from doing their best ever, or they have to do it under very cramped circumstances, like hunger, bad education, illness and poverty.
Every new generation wants to do things in their way, a totally new way as they feel. So there is a natural conflict between generations.
However, if the older generation feels safe in its understanding of reality it has nothing to fear. The young ones will find the light, if they just are given the opportunity to look.
